Formed through the merger of Alto Broadcasting System (ABS) and Chronicle Broadcasting Network (CBN), ABS-CBN has grown into a well-known brand in Filipino households.

The company is a subsidiary of Lopez Holdings Corporation, owned by the influential López family.

Historically, it was known as ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation during two separate periods: from February 1, 1967 to September 23, 1972, and from September 14, 1986 to August 2007.

Often referred to as “Ignacia”, this nickname stems from the company’s headquarters located on Mother Ignacia Street in Quezon City, serving as the heart of its operations.
